The monumental gateway to the Acropolis — five parallel marble doorways built 437–432 BC, still the entrance point for visitors today. The ramp of worn marble leading up from the path is original. Walk slowly.

Acropolis site hours shown are 1 April–31 August; the official site lists earlier closing from 1 September (19:30, then 19:00, 18:30 and 18:00 by 16–31 October) and 08:00–17:00 from 1 November to 31 March.
